Refund Policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026
๐Ÿ’ฐ Quick version: If you're unhappy within 14 days of your first paid charge, email us and we'll refund it. We won't ask you to justify it. It's one refund per person and one free trial per person, and the only other things we won't refund are listed in section 5.

1. Free Trial

The monthly plan includes a 7-day free trial for new accounts. You are not charged during that trial, and cancelling before it ends means no charge is made. On the yearly plan we do not state the timing here: the checkout page is the authority on what you will be charged and when, it shows the exact amount and date before you confirm, and it is generated from the live billing settings while this page is not. We would rather send you to the page that cannot be out of date than repeat a claim here that might be. Whichever plan you pick, the 14-day refund window below applies.

2. 14-Day Refund Window

If you cancel and request a refund within 14 days of your first paid charge, we will refund that charge in full. Your first paid charge is whichever charge actually lands first โ€” the one at checkout if no trial applied, or the one when a trial ends if it did. To request a refund, email support@thecardinvestor.com from the address on your account with the subject "Refund request." Refunds are typically processed within 5 business days. Funds may take additional time to appear depending on your bank or card issuer.

One per person. The refund guarantee can be used once per customer. If you have already had a refund under it, you are welcome to subscribe again โ€” we would rather have you back โ€” but that later charge is not covered by this guarantee. We count "per customer" by mailbox rather than by account, so a second sign-up at the same email address, including with a "+tag" or extra dots, is the same person for this purpose. This is stated here because it is enforced: the limit is recorded in our database and applies automatically, so we would rather you read it now than discover it later.

The free trial is also once per person. If you subscribe again after a refund, the 7-day free trial does not run a second time. You keep access from the point the new subscription actually charges you, not from the day you sign up. The trial and the refund window are the two ways to try this at no cost, and between them you get one of each โ€” not one each time.

A refund ends your access. When we refund a charge we also close the subscription it paid for, so the research is no longer available on that account. That is the other half of undoing the purchase, not a penalty. We close it when we process the refund; if access lingers for a little while after the money has gone back, that is our lag and not a second window you are meant to use, but it is also not something you need to report to us.

3. After the 14-Day Window

Outside the 14-day window, subscription fees are generally non-refundable. You can cancel any time and your access will continue until the end of the current billing period; you will not be charged again.

4. Annual Plans

Annual subscribers get the same 14-day refund window from the date of the first annual charge. After 14 days, annual fees are non-refundable, but cancellation prevents renewal.

5. Exceptions

We may offer additional refunds at our discretion in cases of duplicate charges, billing errors, extended outages, or other unusual circumstances. We do not refund charges in cases of policy violation or chargeback abuse.

6. Payment Processor

Payments are handled by Stripe. The Card Investor is the merchant of record, so refund requests are decided and issued by us directly โ€” contacting us is the fastest path to a resolution. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method by Stripe and typically appear within 5โ€“10 business days.
